ADA Compliance: The Need of the Hour

Interacting with some form of technology is an integral part of our day right now. Everything we need is found on the internet, we have smart home routines to automate certain routine tasks and we are close to getting completely driverless cars. While the advancement of technology is cool, there also needs to be a revolution in how we interact with this technology. Voice assistants have changed this interaction and made it much smoother for those of us who have limited visibility or motor skills. But one of the oldest and most used means of interacting with technology is the web. Everything has a website. We get our news online, our food online, our education online and our businesses are also online. Making a website of a new business is about as basic as registering it legally. Not only businesses but even individuals also have websites to showcase their work, their reading list, their passion projects and everything in between. There is a concept of skeuomorphism in digita

PWA vs. Native: Which One is Better?

Native Apps are fully in coordination with the terms of built-in functions and performance. These apps can be used offline which makes access faster. Though you need a bigger investment in the beginning, native applications keep us sorted for a longer term by offering a better user experience and are a standard across industries. Progressive Web Apps are a hybrid between regular web pages and mobile applications which use modern Web capabilities to offer users a similar experience to a native app. But, is this enough information to go with either of the technologies? Obviously not. If you are not familiar with either of the technologies, we have made a comparative analysis of both. You can use this to make an informed decision: PWA Features It saves time and money as well and you can directly access it from the web browser.  It uses a small portion of the device’s memory and is easily shareable with anyone with that small URL. It can be installed just like a native appl

Tech's Valiant Effort in the New Age War

I suppose things have changed even more from last week and this article finds you in your homes today, self isolating. Times are darker now and it is easy to feel guilty if you are healthy but unable to go about your activities and life as usual.  Being excited about tech also seems strange. But if we as humans stopped being excited, what even would be the point of living? Yes we are at home, alone or with our families, we can’t go out and tech events cannot happen, but  look at the Italians ! The European spirit of living has never been appreciated more! Google’s Cloud Next event, that had moved online, has now been canceled indefinitely. This event is generally important to businesses that use Google cloud platform. Now it remains to see if other online events also get canceled. March, April, May, and June are months when developer conferences and other such tech events generally happen. This year, nothing is sure. Tech companies have really come to the virtual front line

Biztech’s Business Continuity Plan and Remote Work Best Practices

Image
COVID-19 has reached the city Biztech operates in: Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Our workforce is quite large, so we felt it was necessary to move the company’s operation to everyone’s homes. We began the process on Friday evening. Two separate teams were created that prepared everyone’s computers and packed them so everyone could transport them easily. As of right now, Biztech is completely remote. We have a smooth running virtual office that now operates from various cities within Gujarat as well as outside the state. Everyone is safe and practicing social distancing. Even in the remote setup, our network team is working tirelessly to ensure that we have everything that we need to get our tasks done. Some measures that we have taken include daily task updates within teams, maintaining regular communication, etc. We are also following our ISMS policy stringently in order to make sure that data remains safe and secure. With all of these measures, we are working at full capacity. Th

Guide to Social Distancing & Work from Home: By you, for you!

Global economic recession is on our heads as I write this article. Every article getting published these days talks more or less around these three words. Which industries are going to be hit, what to expect, how to make the best of your savings, how businesses can tackle these hard times, and whatnot. LinkedIn. Twitter. Facebook. Every social media platform is  jam packed  with these kinds of articles. But there’s one other recession we should be afraid of.   Social Recession. As countries and countries around the world are closing down their non-essential places, locking down entire states, cities, to fight against this unprecedented situation; people are asked to social distance themselves for their own sake. While the words ‘social distancing’ were music to my ears, and the idea of being in my comfort zone at my house working, writing, and editing, sounded magical, the reality was not so. I am sure you would agree to this if you’ve been in isolation for more than
